At The Prince's Trust, we’re passionate about supporting young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, education and training. We've got an exciting opportunity for somebody enthusiastic to work with young people to join our team as a Youth Development Lead! This role will focus on supporting young people to overcome barriers to access employment, education or training. You'll be designing and delivering engaging sessions to groups of young people and supporting them one to one to move into outcomes.


You will join one of our Engagement Programmes in Belfast. Our Engagement Programme offers young people a mix of fun group activities and one-to-one support to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the future! This ranges from confidence-building sessions to supporting interactive sessions with delivery partners such as ASOS and Sony.


What does a Youth Development Lead do?

As a Youth Development Lead (YDL), you will be at the heart of our Delivery Team. Each day is different and there are always exciting projects for you to get involved in! Your day-to-day activities to make an impact will include:


  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns for young people on your caseload. This includes completing complex risk assessments, liaising with external agencies, and producing safeguarding reports.
  • Engaging with and onboarding Young People who wish to learn new skills, enhancing their ability to succeed in education and jobs.
  • Working with young people on a 1-1 basis to support them in overcoming barriers to employment, education, or training.
  • Writing, developing, and delivering educational sessions, both face-to-face and virtually, utilising digital technology (including MS Teams).
