An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Academy Coaching Team at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Youth Development Coach. This is an excellent role for someone who is a strong planner, organiser and coordinator, alongside excellent interpersonal skills and a knowledge of coaching within a football environment.
The role of Youth Development Coach is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club in identifying and developing the best young players for the Club. The role will further enhance the Academy structure in continuation of Category One Status in line with the Premier League Elite Player Performance Plan. In summary, the Youth Development Coach will work predominantly on the pitch as an expert developer of 12–14-year-olds. The role will aim to develop players with a focus on executing the NCFC Player, Team and Session Identity delivering the Youth Development Phase specific curriculum.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be located in the Peterborough area, with the ability to travel to Norwich.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivery of the (Youth Development Phase specific) Football Curriculum
  • Ensure coach to player ratio of 1:8 exists within training sessions
  • Assist with staff/player reviews every 6 weeks
  • Participate in Weekly Coaches Training meeting and MDT meeting
  • Assist in the identification and recruitment (within the Youth Development Phase) of talented young players into the Academy system
  • Formal session plans to be produced and recorded for every session delivered
  • Match preparation and evaluation to be conducted and recorded for all fixtures
  • Assist Player Development Manager and Head of FP/YDP
  • Administration within the Youth Development Phase
  • To promote safer working practice and maintain a culture whereby safeguarding is recognised as a shared responsibility

  • FA Youth Award (Advanced)
  • Age Specific FA Youth Award
  • Licence Maintenance
  • UEFA B Licence
