Job description
BDS are recruiting for an experienced young persons support worker for a social justice charity based in the NG3 area of Nottingham,
Plan and deliver an effective support and safety plan with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required. The progressions/outcomes identified, delivered and service user contact should be recorded, monitored, reviewed, and updated regularly and in line with contract requirements.
Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned.
Ensure the correct tenure and support agreement is issued and service users comply with these agreements, taking appropriate action in respect of noncompliance including non-engagement with support.
Empower and motivate service users to Identify and achieve desired outcomes. Actively engage with service users in decisions that affect them.
Develop a move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for independent or more appropriate housing.
Support service users to undertake domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills.
The successful candidate will have
- Experience of working with vulnerable people with a range of support needs
- Ability to assess and manage risk
- Excellent communication skills to motivate service users
- The ability to carry out assessments for all service users to identify individual needs or barriers and then produce an agreed action plan that must be regularly reviewed, monitored and outcomes collated.
- Organisational and planning skills, able to deal with conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative and in a highly pressurised environment whilst responding appropriately to the needs of the service users.
- Ability to work flexibly and proactively.
Shifts vary between 8am - 4pm and 1pm to 9pm to include alternate weekends

You will need a current enhanced child and adult DBS already in place prior to applying for this position
Pay rate of £12.66 per hour PAYE /£16.54 per hour UMB
