An exciting opportunity to work as a Young Persons Care Assistant in the BURTON UPON TRENT area supporting young people in a children's SEN residential care & school setting.

About the role and Client

  • An SEN Ofsted Graded 'Good' SEN school in Burton Upon Trent Staffordshire which provides education and residential care for primary and secondary pupils.
  • Supporting SEN pupils age 8-19 on a 1:1 basis
  • This is a temporary to permanent position. You will complete 12 weeks through SEN Central before transferring over on to their full time contract (subject to meeting standards during the 12 week period)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supporting young people on a 1:1 basis with ASD, speech and language needs, and associated complex needs
  • Supporting SEN pupils within the care home and in the school classroom
  • Assisting in personal care duties where required
  • 3 days on 3 days off rota (7.15 am -10pm each day, followed by 3 full days off)
  • Candidates without a Level 2/ 3 qualification will also be considered if you have other support/ care experience as our client can provide in house training in the role as well as the opportunity to support you through your NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification
