This is the voice of a young person who has been excluded from school, has no aspirations, no education and no qualifications. They're on a slippery slope into crime through exploitation, including use of illegal substances.
That’s where Fresh Start in Education and more specifically, you come in.
We have a 94% success rate in engaging with young people who are disaffected with their education.
With your experience with young people who are hard to reach and disengaged, you will be able to support this young person develop their Functional Skills and ultimately make a difference in their life.
Key information
- You'll be matched to a student & work with them for 2 to 5 days per week
- Placements are 6 to 12 weeks long
- As our students are out of school, you'll be delivering the sessions in locations such as a students homes, residential care homes, local libraries or in the community
- The young people we work with have various special educational needs and/or social, emotional & mental health needs, so an understanding here is key

What are we looking for?
- At least a year's experience of working with children with barriers to learning, including SEN, SEMH
- A proven track record of delivering secondary or functional skills education
- Understanding of & commitment to safeguarding including knowledge in Child Exploitation
- A resilient personality and knowledge of de-escalation strategies
