- Study Programmes at foundation level and towards Level 2 for 16-18 year olds
- Community Learning for adults (non-accredited)
- Qualifications for adults (accredited)
- Access to HE Diplomas
- Employability programmes for job-seekers
- Mental health support groups
This is a Zero hours contract covering Gainsborough, Market Rasen and Mablethorpe.
As a Young Adults Skills Tutor a typical day might include:
Delivering an effective and motivating curriculum for those aged 15-24
- Supporting the creation of schemes of work, lesson plans and appropriate teaching resources for own teaching sessions
- To support learners on a day-to-day basis to address obstacles, raise confidence and self-esteem, develop social and work skills and achieve goals
- To act as key worker for a group of learners and undertake individual reviews
- To carry out assessment of learners’ work and provide support in the achievement of qualifications
- To be involved in developing links with partner organisations and employers in order to develop new opportunities for learners (eg. activities to promote personal and social skills, work placements)
- To help learners to identify progression opportunities - further learning, apprenticeships or employment
- To complete learner records and monitoring reports fully and according to audit requirements along with funding paperwork and admin duties.
To help develop techniques to monitor progress and evaluate the programmes, including effective ways of encouraging learner feedback
- To work effectively with other members of the team across the organisation to share best practice and develop the quality of the programme
What we need from you to progress your application
- Relevant professional/Subject qualifications at least to level 3 or an in-depth knowledge and substantial experience in the subject area.
- Teaching qualification appropriate for working in Post 16 Sector such as Level 3 in Education and Training or PGCE.
- Awareness of the needs of underachieving and disengaged young people
- Ability to deal with challenging behaviour at times
- Experience of working positively with young people
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Good standard of English, maths and ICT

- Experience in delivering externally funded contract provision e.g. local authority, Lottery, ESF, ESFA, DWP.
- Experience of working positively with employers and other partners
- Qualification in Mentoring, Advice and Guidance or similar
