Young Adult Carer Adviser
£25,408 pro rata per annum, (30+ hours will be considered)
Fixed term until 31 August 2024
Hybrid working available. Travel across Suffolk required.
About the role
One of our goals is to ensure that the Young Adult Carer is able to develop their personal skills to become a confident member of society, with the ability to make informed decisions about their future alongside the carer responsibilities. This may involve working to a whole family approach and utilising community assets to support and improve wellbeing and reduce identified needs.
Working as a team member within our Young Carers and Young Adult Carers Service, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to assess and support identified young people with caring roles to develop the life skills which support positive future outcomes.
As part of this role you will:
· Need to independently travel across the county required
· Have a flexible approach to working hours to meet service needs
· Be working with Young Adult Carers (age 14-24 years)
· Develop and facilitate needs led one to one and group interventions, workshops and activities

You will have adaptable communication skills which enable you to effectively engage with a range of audiences. Confidence to work to own initiative alongside being an active member of our team. You will bring fresh and creative ideas to engage young people via our social media and digital content.

· Build/maintain working relationships with young people, education providers and community stakeholders
· Independently manage own work priorities alongside service commitments
· Effectively manage and maintain an evolving caseload
· Have experience of working with young people aged 14-25 years-old
· Create engaging content to communicate with young people via our social media and digital platforms
This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be carried out following acceptance of any offer made to the successful candidate
