We are looking for a hands-on Yard Team Member to join Ritchie Bros. in Maltby, UK.
The Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Yard Manager, the Yard Worker safely receives processes, lines up, sells day support, and check-out consigned equipment for the auction. Strict adherence to the Ritchie Bros. standard of customer service is expected of the Yard Worker at all times. In this position you'll:
- Receives/releases (checks-in/checks-out) consigned equipment for auction
- Uses an auction listing to line up equipment for display prior to the auction.
- Drives/operates heavy and light equipment
- Performs facility inspections (per checklists) and provides housekeeping or maintenance services as necessary
- Performs basic maintenance on RBA-owned equipment
- Manage keys for equipment
- Operates forklift to load/unload stationary row equipment
- Jumpstart equipment
- Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc.
- Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment
- Lot number equipment
- Recognizes that Yard Staff are an integral part of the internal communications network in the yard
Here's what you bring:
- Experience operating heavy machinery.
- Able to operate a large 20,000kg loader/forklift is an asset.
- Good spoken and written English is required.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly.
- A track record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too.
- You must be able to relate really well with customers and team members
- You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own.
- You're organized and can handle lots of tasks at once.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- You like to work hard but still have fun on the job.
This job will require you to:
- Climb on, off, and under large equipment and trucks.
- Work outside year-round, no matter the weather.
- Work overtime, including weekend hours, at 6-8 onsite auction sales. You can expect to work extra hours for 1-2 weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for 1-2 weeks after each sale.
