We have a number of Yard Section Supervisor roles which we are recruiting for at our Bakkavor Wigan site.

*To be considered for this role, past supervisory experience is essential*

Pay:

£12.00 per hour – Weekly Paid.

Shift Patterns:

Sunday-Thursday Split Shifts - (Sunday & Monday 12.00 - 20.30 shift, and Tuesday-Wednesday 18.00 - 02.20 shift)

In this challenging role you will co-ordinate the efficient running of the yard area in order to maximise recycling and minimise waste. Always ensuring these duties are completed in line with Company policies and standard operating procedures, including PPE, Food Safety, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’.

Duties Include

• Prepare and operate Fork Lift Truck (FLT), carrying out safety checks in line with procedure.
• To remove and segregate waste to achieve maximum recycling and minimise waste disposal.
• Organise and co-ordinate the allocation of tasks to staff within the area. Ensure that breaks are co-ordinated effectively.
• Complete and issue Permit to Work to contractors. On completion carry out checks to ensure standard has been reached and sign off.
• Liaise with external suppliers to organise trailer collections
• Carry out and document risk assessments on equipment and storage areas in line with standard.
• Compose and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment in accordance with standard and submit for approval to relevant department.
• Carry out active monitoring in line with procedure, ensuring that all safety checks are completed accurately.
• In the absence of the manager conduct fitness to work interviews in accordance with procedure.
• Oversee staffing rota, liaising with manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
• Ensure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information is accurately updated on a daily basis.
• Accurately carry out and record daily GMP audits, reporting any corrective actions to manager.
• Ensure efficient recycling of packaging and waste. Identify potential improvement opportunities and assist with the implementation of such improvements with guidance from your manager.

To be considered for the role you must have:

• Previous supervisory experience
• The ability to understand and pass, as a minimum, entry level English & Numeracy & data accuracy requirements
• Ability to understand and undertake food safety qualification
• Right to work documentation
• Have a flexible approach to work and hours
• Ability to understand and adhere to health and safety requirements
• Able to carry out duties in line with Occupational Health requirements
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene standards
• Ability to positively influence others
