iSupply Group are recruiting for a Yard Marshall for our busy client in Bolton BL2.


Responsibilities


The Yard Marshall is responsible for coordinating all collections with delivery partners for outbound customer shipments at the Bolton warehouse. They will be required to plan with various carriers according to daily collections schedules the smooth flow of vehicles and efficient loading throughout the day limiting the number of vehicles in the yard at one time and co-ordination with the warehouse to ensure orders are ready to fill vehicles at the required times and the correct freight is loaded. They will be the main point of contact for collecting and delivering drivers on site. In addition, the Transport Co-Ordinator will be required to complete various administrative tasks to support the Warehouse and Logistics teams. This position is based at the Bolton warehouse and the hours of work are 6am until 2pm or 2pm until 10pm.

Core Duties


  • Work as part of a team to ensure our targets are met
  • Liaise with teams across all areas of the site
  • Be responsible for ensuring the smooth inbound and outbound flow of HGVs/Containers
  • Work closely with the inbound team to co-ordinate the arrivals of deliveries onsite
  • Support the outbound team in co-ordinating collections for customers
  • Develop and maintain SOPs (standard operating procedures) for activities, and highlight where these are not in line with client operating procedures or current practices
  • Checking daily delivery collection schedules provided by logistics partners and planning and authorising vehicle arrival times ensuring there is enough room in the yard, and it is safe for drivers to enter.
  • Liaising with delivery drivers to ensure that any collection that is not authorised or does not arrive
  • Obtaining a signature/confirmation from drivers to ensure that goods collected are correct in good condition i.e. visibly damage free.


Experience/skillsets required.


  • Hands on experience of co-ordinating a transport yard with a high level of LGV FLT activity.
  • ‘Banksman’ trained is desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Time management ability.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to a high standard.
  • Proficient in the use of IT and all commonly used software.
  • A positive attitude and personality.


Shifts and Pay.


  • 6AM-2PM
  • 2PM-10PM
  • £10.58 ph
