This role will include three primary skills sets:
Communication: our team works collaboratively to manage the grant delivery process from beginning to end. A key factor being the writing of large scale grant program applications in which you must research and develop ideas to create persuasive grant applications. Internal and external communication is paramount as each grant has a different audience, purpose, and qualifications.
Attention to detail: to ensure that our grant applications and claims are successful, we need to maintain a high level of quality output. This includes reviewing the work of others and having your work audited for any mistakes.
Organization: on a day-to-day basis there are multiple projects and deadlines to consider. As a member of the writing team you will be supporting deadline management including the delivery of project claims and other tasks associated with processing a grant.

CORE JOB FUNCTION
Grant Writing
Grant writing primarily is focused on market expansion grants for clients over multiple sectors and industries across Canada. As a Writing Assistant you will work side by side with the Strategy team to deliver market expansion grant applications that help our clients grow their business in, and outside of Canada.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering draft grant applications and business plans
- Research and develop writing ideas using tools available
- Editing and revising applications to maintain the company high success rate
- Creating blog and writing content for the business needs
Client Servicing
Providing excellent service to customers via email, phone and Zoom calls through out their grant process. Ensuring customers feel supported and that we exemplify our company core values
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor grant progress informing the client along the way ensuring steps are completed in the time frame set by programs
- Vet documents and provide guidance around the different steps in a grant application
- Identifying, problem solving, and continually working to remove barriers to successful grant completion

You are inherently curious and think in practical ways which shows in your writing. Although teamwork is imperative, you are comfortable working on your own and your reliability gives others confidence in your work habits. We Are Seeking Candidates Who Have
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree
- 2 years experience in a writing position, grant writing preferred
- Experience in a client-facing role
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Daylite/HubSpot) is an asset
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Experience writing and researching in a professional setting
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Critical thinking - ability to think ‘outside the box’
- Ability to identify and summarize relevant information
- Strong time management and organization
- Ability to work independently
COMPENSATION
This posting is for a full time position at 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday). Primarily remote with 1 day in the office if located within the Vancouver area. Benefits include paid vacation time starting at 2 weeks per year, plus 1 week off paid between Christmas and New Year. 5 days paid sick leave and 2 personal paid days per year. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year and extended health and wellness benefits. All staff members receive additional paid vacation days per calendar year worked.
