Job Description
The Environmental Health Association of Quebec (EHAQ) is seeking a passionate writer and strategist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, informative and concise material that will be used to increase understanding of multiple chemical sensitivity for both our community and the general public. They will also be responsible for hosting workshops and teaching attendees about the written material.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training and workshops for a wide variety of organizations, participants, and partners.
- Use diverse facilitation methods to actively engage learners and encourage participation.
- Prepare surveys that will collect before and after data to evaluate workshops.
- Assist in data analytics and reporting.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with community members, organizations, businesses, local governments, and more to establish partnership opportunities, develop relationships, and help get collaboration opportunities.
- Produce and distribute user-friendly content, such as tip sheets.
- Produce podcasts and videos.
- Update website and other communications tools as required.
- Attend and present at meetings for project committees, presentations, and special events.
- In collaboration with the team, create and monitor methods for evaluating the success of the project.
- Assist in the delivery of the project objectives to ensure deadlines are met, and work is completed.
- Ensure appropriate collection of information is included in interim reports on the project, and all funder obligations are met.
- Support and assist in the generation of project reports to the project funder.
- Carry out action plans as dictated by the management, and meet when management at various times of the day during work hours.
- Assist in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social sciences (political science, public policy, sociology, etc.), or another relevant degree.
- Strong writing skills.
- Fluent in both French and English.
- Experience with project/program management and program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Able to consider data and information from multiple sources to inform planning and develop workshops.
- Experience facilitating workshops, events, and training.
- Ability to express ideas clearly, popularize complex information, mobilize diverse groups, and build consensus.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, sectors, and partners.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines, adapt to constructive criticism, and multi-task.
- Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge.
- Experience with research, surveys, report writing, and grant writing.
- Experience working with volunteers and an understanding of volunteer processes.
- Experience in non-profit or community-based organizations (asset).
- Experience working with people with disabilities (asset).
- Knowledge of the disability of multiple chemical sensitivity (asset).
