Workshop & Warehouse Operative
The Company
Johnson Valves is a well-established distributor and stockist of all types of valves, meters and ancillary products. We supply products to the UK and Worldwide markets in the industrial, marine and boiler industries.
A family-owned company that was established in 1954 and is still proudly owned by the same family three generations on.
Johnson Valves has a modern warehouse located in Calmore Industrial Estate, which includes a small workshop facility that is used to set safety relief valves, drills flanges and makes minor modifications and repairs to all types of valves. We also have a clean area where we set and recalibrate pressure gauges and a hydrotest area where we carry out pressure testing on valves.
The Role
This is a varied role which will suit a candidate willing to turn their hand to a variety of tasks, think on their feet and keen to learn new skills. The role is mixed – with a practical engineering element. Any addition training required will be given to the ideal candidate.
Workshop duties (Main role) will include:
- Setting safety relief valves
- Drilling flanges
- Pressure testing valves
- Calibrating pressure gauges
- Basic valve repairs
- Assembly of valve & actuator packages
Some General warehouse duties may be required on rare occasions, these will include, receiving & checking in goods, packaging and shipping goods to customers, stock taking & Liaison with staff in other departments as necessary.
Full on the job training will be provided.
You will be based at our site in Calmore Industrial Estate, Southampton, although occasional offsite visits may be required.

Salary: £12.00-£13.00 per hour
