Workshop Logistics/Packer

Acumen Collection is an online furniture business based out of Workington and we are looking to recruit an experienced picker packer / logistics team member to undertake logistics tasks to support the dispatch of furniture products from a manufacturing workshop.

We are manufacturers of shelves, shelving units, dining tables, office desks and other bespoke timber products. We also store off the shelf items that are stored in a warehouse. All products have a variety of logistical challenges be it the courier we use, the packing process and understanding the delivery details specific to customer requirements.

A good eye for detail, organisation and understanding of logistics is essential.

Responsibilities of the Logistics/Packer:

  • Member of the packing team ensuring prioritisation of orders and quality assurance duties are adhered to.
  • Work with the customer service manager to ensure orders are booked in for collection with couriers, using a computer based system.
  • All products must be quality assured prior to packing.
  • Ability to problem solve or seek advice from team members is essential.
  • Punctuality, Reliability and Pride in your own work is a must
  • Being professional, ability to use own initiative and be a team player

Requirements of the Logistics/Packer:

  • High levels of accuracy and good attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Analytical/logical thinker
  • Self motivated to achieve targets
  • Work well under pressure as the furniture industry has seasonal peaks in demand
  • Must hold a Full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in working in a workshop or warehouse environment would be preferable.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a logistics or picker packer / warehouse environment
  • Desirable: management experience
  • Desirable: experience working as a logistics manager
