Job Type: Workshop Engineer

Location: Darlington

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 d.o.e

Hours: Mon - Thurs (08:00 - 17:00) Friday (08:00 - 16:00)

The company are a UK leader in the material handling industry. Due to their expanding areas they now have a new opportunity for a Workshop Engineer to join their team. This opportunity would suit a Vehicle Technician, Plant Fitter, Field Service, Heavy Truck or HGV Technician. Company will consider ex forces.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role as a Workshop Engineer will be expected to be in

Control of the maintenance, service and repairs of material handling equipment on site. Candidate will be working with an assortment of equipment which includes mainly electric, but will also be working with Diesel and Gas.

Responsibilities of the Site Engineer:

  • Servicing and repair of material handling equipment.
  • Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensure all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers
  • Manage own work in progress
  • Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in Plant, Vehicle Maintenance or similar
  • Preferably served a full apprenticeship
  • Experienced Plant Fitter, FLT Engineer, Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician or Ex forces will all be considered for this opportunity
  • Technical experience in Engines, Electrics and Diagnostics is compulsory. Hydraulics and all other engine types are required also.
