Dominic Harris Studio is seeking a Workshop Technician to work at our West London studio.
Job Description
You will work as part of a tight knit team on a number of workshop tasks including assembling, building, testing and quality checking finely engineered products.
You will on occasion be required to install an artwork at a collectors location, in the UK or abroad. Subsequent to training, you will be expected to know how to safely and securely install the physical artwork in accordance with specific instructions, how the screen functions, and also give demonstrations of how to interact with the artwork.
You will work positively, proactively and professionally with the team to efficiently carry out tasks to a high standard and anticipate next tasks.
NB: Please note this role will require travel. As such we are looking for candidates with a full valid passport, and who are fully COVID vaccinated and able to conform with current COVID travel requirements (for example testing and boosters).
Role and Responsibilities
- Building / assembling products to the required specification and standards
- Work with the design team to ensure that designs are successfully translated to high quality products.
- Inspect and test components and finished products.
- Using power tools safely and precisely.
- Monitoring stock levels.
- Small scale electronic assembly work, including soldering and wiring.
- Installation of Artwork products at Collectors properties and Galleries (UK and internationally).
You Are:
- Practical and good with your hands
- Detail oriented
- Positive with can-do attitude
- A professional with at least 2 years of similarly professional workshop experience
- Familiar and comfortable with workplace manual handling.
- Comfortable working to high standards within agreed timeframes.
- Professional and comfortable working independently or as part of a team, as required
Desirable:
- A strong interest in mechanical assembly and adjustment.
- An understanding / experience of basic electronic assembly.
- The ability to read and understand CAD drawings.
- Experience with AV equipment including touch technologies, and large format screens.
- Full driving licence.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
