Through our diversity and inclusion strategy, we have made a commitment to increase the diversity of our charity and we welcome candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. We want our employees, volunteers and trustees to represent the broad diversity of the communities of which we are a part.

Versus Arthritis is committed to keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe from harm. During the recruitment process Versus Arthritis will undertake safer recruitment practices and relevant checks to ensure applicants are suitable to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults.

About the role

At Versus Arthritis, we want to empower people with arthritis to be able to take control of their health and wellbeing, be physically active and self-manage, in order that they can remain in, or return to, work. To do this people living with arthritis need clear information from us, in addition to support and guidance from informed employers, employability and workplace health professionals.

We acknowledge that working with arthritis can be challenging. To alleviate this, we want to engage with employers and workplace professionals to improve workplace inclusion for people living with arthritis or related MSK conditions. We want to develop training and information resources to improve understanding of the impact of arthritis on work and solutions for an inclusive workplace.

This role is responsible for the development of workplace information resources for people with arthritis; to help them manage their condition within work and to access the support or adjustments required to remain in, or return to, the workplace. The role will also design and coordinate training for employers, employability and workplace health professionals. It will ensure that the training supports them to develop their knowledge and increase their capacity to improve work outcomes for people with arthritis.

The post-holder will work across all four nations to develop training and information resources appropriate to the legislation within each nation.

Key requirements

  • Good understanding of rights within the workplace, reasonable adjustments and working with disabilities or long-term conditions.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage a range of work, prioritise, manage expectations and deliver are key to the role. You should have experience in coordinating a range of education and training activities, e.g. webinars, workshops, conferences and be confident using online platforms (MS teams/Zoom).
  • Excellent communication skills are required to ensure effective relationship management with a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, workplace professionals, decision makers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience of using a range of insight and engagement methods to inform the programme of work, and experience of applying evaluation and impact measures to activities, is also a key requirement.

*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. As an inclusive employer we will consider home-based working for anyone where office-based hybrid working would be a barrier to being able to work for us, for example for someone living with a long-term health condition or disability.

We do not wish to receive contact from agencies or media sales.
