Petrofac is seeking a Workpack Construction Engineer – PAYE contract position for 6 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
JOB TITLE: Workpack Construction Engineer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accountable for the undertaking in a competent and professional manner, of all allocated tasks as detailed within the Petrofac business management system (BMS) appropriate to the location. All tasks will be carried out in a manner, which takes cognisance of the stated objectives and the methods to achieve this
2.To ensure that the project generated planned documentation reflects a fit-for-purpose design and complies with the project requirements.
3.Delivery of discipline / multi discipline work packs in accordance with relevant Petrofac project procedures.
4.Promote Petrofac values and golden rules of safety
5.Adhere to and promote Petrofac code of business conduct policy
6.Adhere to and promote Petrofac just culture
Project Responsibilities:
1.Attending and contribute to project kick off meetings
2.Attend and contribute to project planning meetings
3.Attend and contribute to project Hazid/Hazop meetings as required
4.Attend and contribute to work pack constructability review meetings
5.Identify any specialist services (Vendor etc.)
6.Identify any specialist tooling requirements
7.Responsible for development of project Construction and Commissioning work packs using Petrofac documentation process (Project Wise) to comply with the Engineering deliverable plan. To produce engineering job cards to include manpower, estimates, material take-offs, etc. from client approved designs or approved work instructions
8.Co-ordinate Workpack Safety Assessment
9.Identify Project tooling requirements
10.Liaise with all Petrofac departments who have an input into the Construction and Commissioning work pack
11.Liaise with all third party departments who have an input into the Construction and Commissioning work pack (Scaffolding, Fabric Maintenance, Inspection, etc.)
12.Ensure project /company BMS processes and procedures are adhered to
13.Ensure Integrity process is implemented and followed
14.Ensure Constructability and Commissioning are considered and incorporated in engineering
15.Ensure design deliverables are only “as required” without nice to have’s
16.Assist in Offshore design survey to ensure Constructability throughout design
17.Ensure timely review of project work-packs, (Rev A and C)
18.Where possible Introduce innovative techniques to aid design and offshore construction installation
19.Identify onshore and offshore resource requirements for project in a timely manner. (Including any specialist services)
20.Interface with vendor for work-pack deliverables
21.Interface with Senior Construction Engineer, Human Resources & Logistics department to identify project trade resources against project plan
22.Liaise with engineering disciplines to ensure their deliverables meet the project requirement in order to meet work-pack deliverables. (as per Engineering deliverable plan)
23.Review completed work pack to ensure compliance against the relevant procedure
24.To liaise with the offshore supervision to resolve engineering problems.
25.Ensure Management of Change process is adhered to
26.Co-ordinate and administer follow on Engineering requirements, Engineering Quire (EQ), Technical Quire (TQ)
27.Co-ordinate and administer work pack amendments adhering to the correct procedure
28.Compile Growth Cards (liaise with planning department)
29.Co-ordinate and administer Archiving of project workpacks and documentation through DCC & Project Wise

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
- Compile Job Card Estimates against engineering drawing information
- Ensure Construction and Commissioning productivity both onshore and offshore is in line with the project schedule.
- Review daily and weekly tracking (job card hours)
- Ensure Construction and Commissioning non-productive time offshore is in line with the estimate
- Compile onshore timesheet in compliance with Project booking code numbers
- Review offshore timesheets
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Experience in a Construction Engineer position
- Onshore Construction and Commissioning work pack development
- Offshore knowledge and experience
- Technical Qualification HNC standard or equivalent
