Overview:
A chance to join a high calibre, industry leading team that is a key component to GBRf’s continued success., A detail orientated role that seeks to maintain, develop and enhance GBRf’s working timetable (WTT). The role involves integrating multiple customer and departmental requirements into workable train plans in a competitive, constrained national Working Timetable which Network Rail administers. A key part of the role is to work with our key internal and external stakeholders to continue to develop GBRf’s WTT and train plans, whilst grasping the key details which ensure the safety and performance of GBRf’s own WTT. The role is an excellent opportunity to develop key skills that will give many options for future career development.

Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for developing train plans that meet the demanding and fast paced requirements of GBRf’s business:
  • Build accurate train paths and plans which meet the stringent standards GBRf sets.
  • Diligently reviewing the WTT to ensure its accuracy is maintained and where it does not meet the standard expected, challenge to bring the quality to the standard expected.
  • Be able to work with high volumes of data quickly and accurately.
  • Help to influence Network Rail in developing our train plans and WTT, reviewing and responding to offers as required.
  • Help to develop smarter reporting methods with new business technology that help enhance the department and wider business.
  • Support other timetabling functions as experience in GBRf develops.
  • Be/become conversant in multiple core business areas to enhance delivery of the WTT, including:Terminal/Yard Operations, Locomotive Planning, Wagon Planning, Rostering and Diagramming
  • Support as directed the managers within the team

Qualifications:
Essential
  • A good command of the English language, both written and verbally to at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent, is required.
  • Numeric work forms a core component of the work undertaken, Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent, is required.
  • Good computer literacy is required for this role.
Desirable
  • Previous experience working with a Railway.
  • Use of TOPS/TRUST.
  • Understanding of railway geography.
  • Understanding of railway traction.
  • Ability to use Timetabling software.

The Salary is up to £35k, dependent upon experience.
