Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Therapist to join our Workforce Wellbeing Service to help us provide the highest quality care to clients attending the Service. Experience of delivering therapy in an Occupational Health/ Staff Counselling Service would be beneficial but not essential. We will consider hybrid working and a job share.
Our clients comprise of CWP staff from all areas across the Trust. We provide therapeutic assistance to staff from all areas of the Trust. Referral reasons are diverse and can feature anxiety, stress, and depression. Our therapists offer therapy for personal and work-related issues, or a combination of both. We provide short term therapy of up to 6 sessions and these are held in confidence unless risk is indicated. We use a database called Corenet and some IT knowledge is desirable although full training on our systems will be provided.
The Workforce Wellbeing Service is based in three sites: Chester, Wirral, and Macclesfield/Crewe. The post will be primarily working from Chester but some flexibility in terms of availability and a willingness to travel may be required.
We are primarily looking for a BACP accredited therapist or someone actively working towards BACP accreditation. We need an enthusiastic therapist who can work well in a team with excellent communication skills and who is also willing to work autonomously.
We are looking for an enthusiastic therapist who has relevant experience for the post. The successful candidate should be confident to work in a team and autonomously if required. Experience of delivering 1:1 therapy to clients presenting with a variety of referral issues is essential. It would be beneficial to have experience of delivering short term therapy that is focused and goal orientated. Knowledge and skills in delivering other therapeutic modalities would be helpful .
Some IT knowledge of Microsoft packages and recording notes on a database would be helpful although full training will be provided. Experience of using psychometric tests is required but not essential.
The Workforce Wellbeing Service has four pathways, which are Occupational Health, Staff Support, Musculoskeletal and Wellbeing. We have three departments based in Chester, Pensby and Macclesfield. Our team supports and promotes health and wellbeing for staff within CWP and we are passionate continually developing our service in line with current legislation and guidance from NHS England.
We expect high standards of communication and the ability to manage highly expressed emotions in a therapeutic setting. Staff Support works alongside Occupational Health Team and staff from all areas of the Trust attend the department. We are well supported by our admin staff and good communication with them is essential to ensure the smooth running of the department.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
