Join Apple’s Product RF organization and drive innovation that matters! We’re looking for engineers with a specialization in wireless channel / propagation measurement, emulation, & simulation; as well as with strong fundamentals in RF & Antenna measurement & design; and analysis of wireless communication systems. Our engineers help architect, research, and design, Apple’s world-class wireless products. All members of the numerous teams within the organization bring their own unique expertise to collectively bring wireless technologies to our products, following Apple’s culture of excellence in engineering principles and practices.
Key Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of propagation/channel modeling theory for various environments (e.g. indoor vs outdoor) and technologies (e.g. LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, mmW)
- Proficiency in measuring wireless channel characteristics (e.g. channel sounding, multipath propagation, range pathloss, fading, delay spread, doppler shift)
- Proficiency in emulating air interface (using a channel-emulator / fader e.g. Vertex or PROPSIM) for testing wireless communication systems
- Proficiency in simulating wireless propagation in complex environments (e.g. SBR+ HFSS, WinProp, InSite, EDX)
- Experience with antenna design/test, EM wave propagation analysis, anechoic chambers and radiated performance evaluation like antenna-efficiency, TRP & TIS
- Experience with RF lab equipment (e.g. network analyzer, channel emulator, signal generator, signal analyzer, wireless network emulator)
- Experience with analysis of wireless communication systems such as LTE, 5G mmWave, WiFi, Bluetooth etc. including the corresponding system-level key performance indicators
- Programming ability in Python, Matlab &/or R (or other equivalent)
- Traveling up to 15% of the time may be required
- We see the more you have of the following as a BONUS:
- 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent
- Recent experience in wireless channel research (measurement, emulation &/or simulation)
- Recent experience in OTA characterization
- Recent experience in 5G/mmWave, UWB, WiFi &/or Bluetooth technologies
