Job description
Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Window Cleaning Technician, to start as soon as possible.
The purpose of this post is to ensure the smooth and efficient provision of window cleaning services to all schools and properties within Brighton College.
Duties include:
- Cleaning interior and exterior glass across all sites.
- Additional cleaning required for Open Days and College events which may require weekend working as overtime.
- The creation of a cleaning rota based on the requirements and accessibility of the buildings.
- Ensuring that all window cleaning and equipment are in good working order.
- Appropriately cleaning up after each job to ensure that there is no residue or dirt left behind.
- Assisting the rest of the cleaning department when required.
Essential criteria:
- Valid driving licence.
- Proven window cleaning experience.
- Sound knowledge of industry-related health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work at different heights.
- The ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
Hours of work:
- 07:00-16:00 with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday inclusive.
- You will also be required to work additional hours to support four Saturday Open Mornings from 06:00-09:00 which will be paid to you in addition to your salary.
Holidays:
- 20 days, in addition to bank holidays.
- Subject to operational requirements, additional days may be awarded during the period between Christmas and the New Year.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
- This role will involve daily contact with pupils, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
