Wind Turbine Technician - Fenlands

Our portfolio of nearly 1,000 MW consists of 36 wind farms – including two offshore wind farms – and one of the largest operational battery storage units in Europe. We’re also is seeking to deliver further growth from its own development pipeline or though securing new acquisitions of projects and has more than 2GW consented, in planning and development.
As a Wind Turbine Technician in the Fenlands team based in our Fenlands Service Centre (PE7 2EU) every day is different and provides a real opportunity to make a difference in our ambition to help the UK achieve Net Zero.
You’ll work across Senvion assets to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to our onshore wind turbine projects.

What’s my role and where will I fit in?
What do I need to be good in this role?
You’ll be a time served Engineer (electrical/mechanical) with a primary focus on ensuring operations and maintenance activities are undertaken to the highest levels you’ll ideally hold a AT/AE qualification under Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) and have significant technical expertise gained through a blend of academic (Electrical or Mechanical HNC/HND/NVQ) and “hands on” operational environments.
For this role you must drive and live with a 30 mile/45-minute radius of our Fenlands Service Centre in Peterborough.

What’s my role and where will I fit in?
- Schedule and reactive maintenance accordance with manufacturer’s guideline
- Report and plan daily maintenance activity
- Coordinate local spare part and consumable stock
- Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime
- Supervise specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange
- Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors
- Provide out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown
- Ensure the highest level of turbine availability
