We are looking to invest in a naturally self-motivated individual with an energy and passion for this area of law and who wants to grow, develop and be mentored into our established team.
The ideal candidate will be attentive and have a good eye for detail, be a good communicator, at ease with building relationships (both internally and externally), and possess a natural interest and curiosity in matters relating to Wills and Probate.
This is a two-year training contract focused in this discipline with a view to qualifying with the team as a Wills and Probate Solicitor, equipped with the legal knowledge and skills to be a valuable member and contributor of the team.
As a trainee you will support and work closely with all team members with all aspects of the various types of Wills and Probate transactions that are carried out within the department. You will gain experience in the drafting of the relevant legal documents and the typical process of a private client transaction, such as Wills and Estate Administration. We encourage client contact for our junior team members and you will be encouraged to take responsibility for aspects of work whilst all the time ensuring you have adequate supervision and support.
We work closely with the other teams in the Private Client services side of the firm (Corporate, Family and Investment Management) and you will gain an understanding of those departments typically within the context of a private client transaction. Applicants interested in this exciting opportunity will have achieved a high standard of academic success in their Law degree and have passed or be within their final year of the LPC prior to the commencement of the training contract.
Existing trainees with Wills and Probate experience who wish to transfer their training contract may also be considered.
Previous work experience is not essential however experience or working in a legal or professional services environment would be advantageous.
