Job description
Job Role: Wildlife Shift Leader
Place of work: The Wildlife Centre, Larton Liveries, CH48. There will be occasional shifts at our other rescue site in Mold, North Wales for holiday cover.
Hours of work: 25 hours over 7 days a week, including bank holidays. Extra hours available during busy periods and to cover sickness and holidays.
Rate of Pay: National Minimum Wage

Duties Include
· Management of The Wildlife Centre during a shift, working along side the Wildlife Centre Manager
· Admitting sick and injured wildlife including hedgehogs, birds, small mammals, and occasionally small domestic pets such as reptiles and rodents
· Administering medication to treat sick animals based on veterinary advice
· Training new volunteers
· Managing the volunteers each day, ensuring they are all happy with their duties and that each animal is being cleaned and fed.
· Answering the phone and advising the public regarding any worries about wildlife
· Organising vet visits
· Managing the release of rehabilitated animals
· Updating the social media for Jackson’s Animal Rescue and answering messages
· Managing stock levels of important items in the centre
· Dealing with any issues with volunteers
· Occasional shifts for holiday cover at our other rescue site in Padeswood Mold, which involves managing a domestic animal rehoming centre (farm animals, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets)
Person Specification
Essential
· Full driving license and use of a car
· Experience working with animals (paid or voluntary)
Desirable
· Experience of managing people
· Social media experience
· Animal care qualification
