A new opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to join the Medirest family. We are looking for new members to join our highly dedicated retail team, who deliver outstanding catering services for patients, visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities:

• Be aware of the daily menu content and portion size through liaison with the Manager or Supervisor.
• Ensure that the correct service equipment and menu accompaniments are available prior to service.
• Ensure all areas are fully stocked.
• Be flexible in the location and hours of your day to day work pattern within the Catering department.
• Check that the dining area is clean and ready for service and that adequate supplies are available of cutlery, glasses and serviettes. Furthermore, that they are also free from dirt and in a good condition.
• To produce & present all drinks to brand standards & recipes
• Carry out all elements of basic hospitality provision from set up to delivery to clearing.
• Assist in the kitchen and pot wash area when necessary
• To be competent in all service areas to assist colleagues when required.
• To adhere to all brand specifications.
• Make sure restaurant tables, floor and tray clearing trolley duties are completed throughout the day.
• Prepare food items as per the daily requirements and as allocated ensuring that the agreed standards of presentation are adhered to always.
• Prepare salads food pots sandwiches and any ad hock items as needed.
• When required check deliveries and put them away as necessary.
• Check food delivery temperatures and record

• £10.90 per hour, 0 hours per week

• Awareness of food & hygiene standards
• Passionate about customer care, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
• Confident working in a hospital environment and aware at times you will come in contact with patients that are particularly unwell or showing signs of distress.
• It doesn't matter if you've never worked as a General Assistant before. What does matter to us the most, is taking pride in what you do and a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for our customers
