We’re looking for an QC Technician (FTC, 9 Months) to join our Quality Team
Location: Site-based, Preston

About Quality at Sika
Sitting within the R&D function, the UK Quality team contributes to ensuring the quality of Sika products; maintaining the standards and certifications that we have worked hard to achieve. In the UK, Sika have offices in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, Leeds and Wishaw.
The Quality Team in Preston support two manufacturing facilities through their QA/QC activities:
Incorez: A leading manufacturer of polyurethane and epoxy technology
Sika Liquid Plastics: A technology leader in the field of liquid applied coatings and waterproofing membranes
Purpose of the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving team striving for Quality 4.0. The QC Technician ensures efficient and effective operation of the QC function; maintaining standards of raw material and product quality in line with ISO9001 and internal processes to ensure customer requirements are met.

The Opportunity:
- Carry out the day-to-day quality control processes within operations and lab-based environments
- Ensure that raw material, in-process and final product testing is effectively and accurately carried out
- Accurately record results using SAP
- Advise on corrective actions and appropriate recording methods to maintain manufactured product within specification
- Perform additional quality-related testing and investigation
- Undertake quality lab-related administration tasks
- Assist in preparation of new QC specifications
- Contribute to implementation/improvement of test methods/procedures
- Maintain the laboratory areas
- Maintain a high standard of laboratory cleanliness
- Ensure that test equipment is properly and correctly used, calibrated, and maintained to specified standards and that safe working practices are adopted at all times.
- Ensure that adequate materials are available in the laboratory in order to fulfil the Quality Control function.

What we need from you?
Experience of working in a QC/R&D laboratory (essential)
- A proactive approach to EHS (essential)
- Experience of using MS Office (essential)
- Experience of using SAP (desirable)
- Good interpersonal skills – able to form good working relationships with other departments
- Ability to problem-solve
