Job Title: Wellbeing Practitioner

Salary: NJC SCP: 20 – 22 (£28,371 - £29,439)

Contracted Hours: 35 Hours

Duration: Permanent

Annual Leave: 30 days per annum

Responsible to: YIACS Development Manager

Accountable to: Senior Strategy and Operations Manager, CEO and Board of Trustees

Location: YPAS Community Hubs (Central, North and South) and peripatetic delivery

Job Purpose:

  • To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Therapists and Wellbeing Practitioners
  • To address the mental health and emotional well-being of children, young people and families.
  • To deliver 1:1 practical support to CYP to build their resilience and problem solving skills
  • To maintain caseload
  • To co-facilitate a range of group work and drop-in’s

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide Information Advice and Guidance to children and young people
  • To advocate on behalf of the young people as and when appropriate.
  • To plan, deliver and evaluate activities and informal education sessions
  • To co-facilitate drop-in, group activities / sessions
  • To engage young people, redress inequalities, value opinions, and empower

individuals to take action on issues affecting their lives and overall mental health emotional wellbeing.

  • To encourage young people to develop skills and enhance attitudes.
  • To work within a multi-agency framework to ensure that the needs of young people are addressed holistically.
  • To actively promote participation in all aspects of service delivery.
  • To develop mechanisms whereby young people / adults have a voice in order to evaluate the service and take an active role in decision making.
  • To enable children and young people to recognise their own learning, progress and record these using appropriate routine outcome measures.
  • To identify and form links with both voluntary and statutory service, to ensure a multi-agency approach is maintained at all times.
  • To develop and maintain sound working relationships with health, education and social care, to enable a joint thinking approach in relation to the needs of children and young people
  • To ensure that children and young people adhere to YPAS's policies and procedures.
  • To encourage anti discriminatory practice.
  • To coordinate and attend multi-agency meetings as required.
  • To carry out the EHAT lead worker as and when appropriate.
  • To adhere to YPAS’s record keeping and recording systems.
  • To identify and access appropriate training and personal development opportunities.
  • To prepare monthly management reports.
  • To be committed to value based and anti- discriminatory practice
  • To undertake other duties consistent with the nature of the post, as identified by Management and Trustees.

Shared Tasks;

  • To adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • To adhere to all YPAS policies.
  • To actively participate in the evaluation and quality assurance of the service.
  • To share knowledge and skills through training as and when required.
  • To engage with all YPAS services and team members

Support and Supervision;

  • Comprehensive staff induction
  • Fortnightly KIT (keep in touch) meetings during probation period
  • Six weekly line management supervision
  • Monthly external/clinical case-load supervision as appropriate
  • Staff meetings
  • Skill share meetings
  • Staff conferences
  • Service development days
  • Annual staff appraisal

Information Governance:
You are required to familiarise yourself with the charity’s Information Governance Policy and adhere to all related policies and procedures included in the staff induction.

The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, two employment references and proof of original documentation. This post is subject to a six month probationary period.
