Board Member appointment: NHS 24


NHS 24 is Scotland’s national provider of digital and tele-healthcare services. Through our national 111 telephone service, we provide access to clinical assessment and triage, health advice and information to the population of Scotland 24/7. NHS 24 is also Scotland’s provider of a national health information service via the NHSInform.scot platform.

As a non-executive member of our Board, you will have a key role in supporting the delivery of the organisation’s strategic direction in addition to contributing to scrutinising performance, and discharging governance and accountability functions. You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution.

Remuneration and time commitment: Remuneration is £9,030 per annum (non-pensionable) for a time commitment of one day per week. Reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed.

Location: NHS 24 is a national Board, but the majority of meetings will normally be hosted in Glasgow and Edinburgh. In recent times, meetings have been held virtually. Going forward, the expectation is that Board and Governance Committee meetings will be held by blending virtual and physical meetings.

Interviews:
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 6 September in our Lumina site, based at 40 Ainslie Road, Hillington, Glasgow.

You do not need to be an expert in health or have previous experience of being on a Board. We are looking for people who have the capacity and commitment to develop their skills and to learn new skills they may require.
