Salary: £21,500 (pro rata), hours: 10 per week (hybrid working and open discussions are welcomed around flexibility of hours)
About us: VASL is a local charity based in Market Harborough, providing services and projects to improve the lives of people in our community. These include support for family carers, older people who are lonely and isolated, providing volunteer transport to get people out and about, and activities and information to increase mental well-being. We are a volunteer-involving organisation and most of our work is delivered by trained volunteers.
The Wellbeing Befriending Service was established in May 2021, originally funded as a pilot project to support adults facing mental wellbeing challenges by providing a weekly telephone call made by a volunteer befriender. The project has recently received lottery funding up to July 2025 which allows us to continue with the telephone befriending and to add volunteer face to face support too. This will include wellbeing workshops and supporting people to access community resources. The project supports anyone over the age of 18, who lives in the Harborough district who is experiencing wellbeing challenges. (We are not funded to support those in crisis and will signpost accordingly).
About the job:
The Wellbeing Administrator will provide the Wellbeing Befriending Service with key administrative tasks including creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases, as well as regularly uploading information onto our VASL website and gathering relevant information to be added to our social media accounts.
Responsibilities will include:
· Identifying activities, groups and events that are happening across the Harborough District and displaying the information on the VASL website in the form of an accessible timetable or wellbeing calendar.
· Collecting information for and creating a bi-monthly wellbeing newsletter and circulating to those receiving support from our service, volunteers, trustees, partners, and funders.
· Maintaining accurate records of project activities and performance information on the Wellbeing Befriending database.
· Coordinating the administration of events, including invitations, arranging transport, and booking venues etc.
· Supporting the coordination of volunteer recruitment, references, and training.
· Supporting the development of marketing, promotion, and other written material.
· Providing a telephone reception service and answering emails.
· Being committed to VASL`s vison and value base and being active in shaping the future of VASL.
About you:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in carrying out administrative duties and have a non-judgemental attitude and be eager to learn. We are looking for someone who has excellent IT skills with demonstrable ability in the use of software applications, such as MS Word and MS Excel, are essential.
