Lifted Entertainment is a thriving Label within ITV Studios and produces a wide range of programming in their Manchester and London offices. We are extremely proud of our excellence in programme making and the creativity of our teams.
From live shows such as Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, to talent shows like The Voice UK, quizzes such as University Challenge and Countdown and reality TV formats including Love Island and I’m A Celebrity, there isn’t an unscripted genre we don’t produce.

This role
Welfare is an emerging and hugely significant part of the productions we make at Lifted and we are constantly looking for new talent who are interested in pursuing a career within Welfare. As Welfare is a developing area we have found that there are people who are keen to work within welfare but who might not have had the opportunity to gain the levels of experience in the wider industry.
At Lifted, we feel that our productions lead the way with our Duty of Care structure and protocols across the shows that we produce. For these reasons, we think a Traineeship could be a great way to foster new talent and give that talent a chance to work on the wide roster of entertainment formats that we make at Lifted.
The aim of the 6 month programme is to help build someone a fantastic and diverse welfare skill set. The candidates will get to work with an experienced welfare team who have helped create the bespoke procedures in place on previous series of shows as well as working closely with the Head of Welfare.
This role does not require any broadcast/programme experience. It is open to all applicants from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in welfare rather than someone with Television experience.
This role involves travelling and working away from home both UK and abroad.
Some Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside the welfare team to create welfare policies and protocols and to ensure the show follows procedures.
Involved in the Fitness to participate procedure, ensuring the cast have completed paperwork for assessment.
Involved in producing cast experience documentation and communicating with cast members on show specific processes and ensuring they are well informed.
Working with cast members with a variety of backgrounds.
Accurate welfare reporting and note keeping on location and office based.
Communicating with senior welfare, editorial teams and medical professionals.
Risk assessing cast duty of care
Working with social media partners to gain knowledge on how to protect participants online
Being proactive and good at problem solving
Skilled at dealing with sensitive data
Encompass a professional attitude when working with contributors and talent
Ability to contribute to welfare team with new ideas
Working on location to oversee cast welfare, monitor behaviours, requests and communicating these to the Welfare Producer and Senior editorial team members.
Minimum Criteria
Good time management skills with a proven ability to respond to changing demands in a pressured environment.
Good organisation with demonstrable experience of accurate record keeping.
Ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail.
Ability prioritise tasks and using initiative when multitasking
Must be resilient, measured and work well under different types of workplace pressures in a fast paced environment.
Competent across a range of IT software including MS Office (Work, Powerpoint, Excel), Google Mail and other Google products
Willingness to learn quickly and be adaptable in a fast paced environment.
The key role criteria is as follows:
Experience of dealing with challenging situations or people
Ability to manage own workload and work under deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to identify when to managing up and escalate to senior team
Experience of working with people, is personable, friendly and people orientated
Ability to approach problems and resolve them in a calm, logical manner
