Apprenticeship summary
As an apprentice welder and fabricator you will be trained in all aspects of welding and fabrication.
During your apprenticeship you will work alongside our skilled workforce and gain knowledge of engineering materials. You will learn how to read engineering drawings, measure and mark out, and produce sheet metal components and assemblies to precision tolerances.
You will learn to do MIG/MAG and TIG welding and you will have the opportunity to experience various automated welding processes including robot welding, laser cutting technology and CNC LVD press brake procedures.
This is a ‘4 year’ apprenticeship where you will be expected to complete your BTEC Level 3 Engineering Diploma, with an option of studying for HNC in your final 2 years.

Requirements and prospects
Desired qualificationsA minimum of 4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 with a preference of Grade 5 in Maths, English and Science.
Future prospects
Qualifications on completion: Level 3 Diploma and a HNC.
