Associate Welder is an hourly Full-Time union role in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and the starting pay rate for this position is $24.03/hour.

Responsibilities:
Our Associate Welders do the following:- Work with metals, mild steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum while working on elevated platforms and in confined spaces
- Physical role requiring heavy lifting up to 50 pounds; able to stand during prolonged periods of time while providing services
- Will be provided with 80 hours of on-the-job training each year, as well as professional development to develop new welding process skills to help be promoted to Welder 2
- Physical role requiring heavy lifting up to 50 pounds; able to stand during prolonged periods of time while providing services
- Delivers clear and concise verbal and written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required; may handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license
- Must add one certification in a different material using one of the successful pre-hire weld certifications in the first 90 days of employment
- Must pass new weld certifications for the scheduled weld process for the given progression year
- Acquire three (3) years of full-time welding experience with The Walt Disney Company which includes, but is not limited to, developing welding skills in the following order: GTAW(TIG) - 6G Position with multiple materials; SMAW(Stick) - 6G Position with multiple materials; FCAW(Flux Core) –1G, 2G, 3G and 4G Position with multiple materials; GMAW(MIG) – 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G Position with multiple materials
- Possess training from a technical education facility or have several years of welding experience in industry; Ability to read and interpret Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS); Demonstrate blueprint reading skills including weld symbols; and Fixture Design and Fabrication
Preferred Qualifications:
Here are the outstanding preferred skills we are looking for:- Proficient in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
