With continued growth, Laurus Trust is looking for an experienced and committed individual to join the 20 strong team as a Trust Assistant IT Director based at a school that best fits with your commute. You may be coming from a similar role, or perhaps an IT Manager looking for the next step in your career.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of dedicated IT professionals who support and service the IT function in a fast-paced environment across 5 secondary and 3 primary schools with an anticipated 10,000 users from September 2023. You will become an integral part of an expanding and progressive organisation, and be a key contributor to the strategic development and maintenance of the Trust IT provision, providing leadership for our Team of IT Managers and Technicians which in turn will support the continued delivery of outstanding education to our students.
You will be managing exciting market leading technologies with an opportunity for a hands-on approach with technical system commissioning. Cyber security products such as; Crowdstrike and Mimecast, infrastructure; Aruba, Ruckus, Dell PowerEdge, 3CX, utilising M365 advanced features across a single tenancy and Windows domain. We have two further ‘new build’ schools in the pre-opening phase: Laurus Grace, and Crown Street Primary. Working with key stakeholders, you will be involved with the building and system design architecture and implementation through to practical completion.

Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please see the Job Description attached on TES)
- To support the IT Director with managing the development, implementation and ongoing support of all information technology across the Trust, supporting the educational vision of the Trust
- Overseeing the day to day running of the IT Support Service at an operational level
- Lead the Cyber Security function, working to protect the integrity of the Trust
- To strategically plan the lifecycle of systems and services to ensure they meet the evolving educational and operational needs of the Trust whilst ensuring value for money and economies of scale are realised
- To support the IT Director with managing a team of IT managers, technicians and developers to ensure that they provide a high-quality service across all schools
- To ensure that legal and contractual obligations relating to IT resources, systems and services are met

Key Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience is essential
- Proven experience of working in 3rd line support role necessary
- Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
- Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role
