About the Role:
The role involves completing the welding of fabricated assemblies, using Mig/Mag Spot welding and/or Tig welding processes.
Please note that a MIG and TIG weld test will required during the interview.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Carrying out the manufacturing of assemblies to drawings/processes/instructions, using various welding equipment
- Carrying out machine start-up, set-up, and programme selection
- Displaying knowledge of the welding equipment being used
- Using Grinding Wheels, Drills, Power Saws, and various other tools
- Inspection and testing of assemblies, prior to finishing operations
- Ensuring the correct processes are followed
- Being able to work in a structured manner
- Completing batch cards
- Identifying maintenance concerns & carrying out first level resolution
- Moving parts to the next operation
- Working in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines, including keeping the work area and machine clean and tidy
- Being responsible for using the P.P.E & keeping it in excellent condition
- Meet quality & production targets, as set by the area supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
- A qualification related to welding and fabrication
- General Fabrication and welding experience - MIG/MAG & TIG
- Knowledge of the equipment used in welding and fabrication
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- The ability to read engineering drawings
- General Fabrication and sheet metal experience
- Reliable, self- disciplined, trustworthy, and enthusiastic
- Flexible with work changes
Desirable:
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths or English
- Fabrication and welding of light to medium gauge materials, up to 8mm thick and TIG weld
- The ability to understand and use a Kanban system
- The ability to read complex engineering drawings
