Defence Equipment
The Welder role is based within our Defence Equipment business area.
Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment. As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.
The role
The difference our new Welder will make
As a Welder, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will perform weld tasks on various articles of military armoured vehicles including Stick, MIG and TIG. You will also be working with various ferrous and non-ferrous metals including but not limited to steel and aluminium.
Day to day, you will be working on corrosion, mainly Land Rovers, heavy trucks, protective mobility fleet and heavy armour vehicles.

Essential experience:
- Coded Welder experience is desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in welding any area
- Holds valid and appropriate UK driving licence
- Holds valid UK driving licence with Categories C, C+E and H
- Holds BS 9606 Qualification
- You must hold or have ability to obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance
