JOB TITLE: MIG Welder
RESPONSIBLE: Factory Team Leaders
ROLES AND RESONSIBILITES
The manufacturing team are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic welder, who is looking for a permanent role in a busy manufacturing environment. The role will consist of, but not be limited to the following tasks;
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
· Welding street lighting columns (pipe) on a jig style production line
· Fettling and cleaning of components with use of grinders
· Manually guiding electrode/gun along weld line, most work will be done on rollers, with the pipe in the horizontal position
· Setting up of plant and machinery specific for the job in hand
· Use crane to load and unload components from jig (crane/manual handling training to be provided in house)
· Cleaning all welds, removing excess spatter and slag
· Experienced in using a variety of tools common in welding & fabricating
· Experienced in understanding and following Safe Working Practices for welding equipment
· Maintaining a high standard of quality whilst working to deadlines set by supervisor
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS
· Welding qualifications required, level of qualification depends on experience
· Successful candidate will have to go through weld tests in-house to get coded recognition
PREFERRED SKILLS
· Experience of manual handling
· Good communication skills
· Experience in reading engineering drawings
Possible overtime available at busy periods

Salary - £23,000-£28,500 per annum
BONUS -POTENTIAL TO EARN UP TO £4,200 EXTRA A YEAR
