Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
We are looking for someone to primarily work weekends, as we are open 7 days a week, around 3 out of 4 weekends a month (both Saturday and Sunday), with some flexibility offered over the Summer Holidays. Shifts are usually 9:30am to 5pm (4pm in winter), this is a zero hour contract, with flexibility offered, but core working will be Saturdays and Sundays as required.
What it's like to work here:We are looking for someone to join the team in our Visitor Reception, that welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year to the gardens & 700 year old moated manor house. We are about to work on an exciting infrastructure project which will see improved facilities, with a temporary relocation of the Visitor Reception. This summer we have a great season of events in place for Ightham Mote’s Summer of Tudors.
Ightham Mote is nestled in a beautiful Kentish valley, set in 500 acres of National Trust countryside. Ightham Mote has daily garden tours taking in the breathtaking south lake. Local plants and produce are available for visitors to purchase from the Cutting Garden and shop. It is a perfect spot for picnics, enjoying the views of the ornamental lake and informal lawns.

What you'll be doing:As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work with the visitor welcome team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.
You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.
