Weekend Lodge Porter
Salary: £27,500 pro rata plus benefits
Permanent, Part Time (Shift Working, Saturday and Sunday)
Location: Oxford
A new opportunity has arisen to join our Front of House department. This is an exciting time to join as we are now completing a major building project to transform Rhodes House, a grade 2* listed building constructed in 1929, into a leading convening centre for the Rhodes Trust and its strategic partners.

The role
The Lodge Porter will be based at one of the Lodges at Rhodes House. This role will be one of the main points of contact for visitors including staff, Scholars, Trustees and visitors therefore the post holder is required to provide a first-class professional service, anticipating their needs wherever possible whilst maintaining the professional and positive image of the Trust.
Security of the House is paramount and the Lodge Porter will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the security systems and patrolling the site to an agreed schedule.
There will be a requirement for the Lodge Porter to setup function and meeting rooms so that they are ready for use in the morning.
The role will be responsible for;
- To ensure that the building and site are secure at all times and that entry and exit procedures are adhered to for the safe management of all those on site.
- To ensure that all are greeted in a manner in keeping with the professional expectations of the Trust.
- Provide support to facilitate guest arrivals and room check in and out activity such as issuing room keys, and to maintaining accurate records of keys that have been issued/ returned and take payments.
- As required receive goods delivered to the House.
- Accept courier deliveries sending emails to recipients and safely storing delivered items in safe storage area.
