Role Introduction

This role will require you to be adept at creating beautiful and engaging website, webpages and web components that also meet the UX and User testing requirements.


You will be responsible for leading the transformation and continued development for the company website, playing an integral part the web design projects by creating beautiful interfaces that enhance our prospect/users' digital experiences. You will help drive the performance of our web and advertising user journeys while supporting the evolution of our web brand style guides and design principles. Acting as the key interface between Creative and digital UI you will have accountability for the consistent application of the Advanced Brand, for example, the use of brand imagery within our Software products, or the use of the brand across the support portals.

As a web designer you will work very closely with the UX team to develop the interface in response to user feedback. Along with ensuring the site design is visually stunning you will ensure it meets the criteria of accessibility.

What You Will Do

  • Optimising, creating and managing web assets
  • Create Inspirational digital experiences for Advanced’s core digital platforms, website and email
  • Drive and encourage big ideas and innovative design approaches and processes
  • Leverage UX, creative, technology, user experience trends to drive innovation through the website.
  • In collaboration with UX Designer drive the entire end to end creative process through ideation, concepts, Prototyping, Final Design Visuals, Design /Graphical Toolkits.
  • Develop ‘always on’ digital guidelines, templates and best practice and ensure these are adhered to.
  • Ensure that user journeys across mobile and desktop products are responsive and adaptive and meet the needs of the business through UX project work (In conjunction with the UX team)
  • Serve as the go-between product development and creative – ensuring product imaging, branding and look and feel are consistent and up to date for Advanced offerings.
  • To be an enthusiastic brand advocate/ambassador working with all departments to ensure a consistent application of the brand

What You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, UX/UI or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of digital design experience.
  • An amazing, digitally focussed portfolio, showcasing exceptional design work from start to finish.
  • Good working knowledge of industry-standard software (Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite). A great eye and in-depth understanding of the User Experience Design (UED) process.
  • Excellent command of typography.
  • Ability to rationalize your thought processes and clearly articulate your creative ideas
  • To influence and guide our Advanced digital creative strategy & direction.
  • Has experience of working as part of agile teams - with Digital, creative, UX, developers and copy writers.
  • Web Design skills - UI design, mobile layouts, web patterns, validation
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern website design and development techniques as it relates to web development and customer journey optimisation
  • Ability to self-review artwork and impeccable attention to detail
  • Have an eye for detail and can demonstrate a high level of creative execution of design, typography and layout
  • Comfortable with the Mac and PC platforms
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation, promote enthusiasm, and motivate strategic thinking.
  • Confident and enthusiastic showing a strong ability to learn and expand the role
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise
  • Proactive and organised
