We’re on the hunt for a Web Project Manager. Our ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, can handle customer requirements and translate into actionable and deliverable tasks for our development and design team. An excellent communicator who can effectively communicate with clients at a variety of levels of seniority, and across a wide range of business sizes and sectors.

To be best equipped for this role, you’ll likely have 2+ years of experience managing development projects. You’ll also be adept with direct contact and communication with senior management and decision-makers and have sufficient knowledge in web development to orchestrate a team of developers and translate issues and progress clearly with clients.

This role will support the department director in managing all projects end to end.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead communications for all web clients. Receiving any and all queries and requests, working with the team to construct responses in a timely, effective manner.
  • Lead / manage website projects from initial concept to launch.
  • Champion our web department processes and standards, ensuring they are always being followed and met.
  • Produce reports and related suggestions/improvements on all projects and retainers.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Keeping projects within budget and meeting deadlines – raising risks with meeting either of these before it materialises.
  • Provide support with new business pitches and quotes where required.
  • Work closely with the department director to onboard new projects, and deliver client development requests.
  • Aim to achieve retained business from all clients, promoting our post-launch support and up-sells consistently.
  • Keep a fluid dialogue with senior management around the health of client relationships, including reporting on outcomes, successes and risks.
  • Maintain timely and effective response times.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our full-service offering to readily tailor an optimal strategy to any scenario.
  • Coordinate cross-department work within Soap Media to facilitate campaign success.
  • Regular timesheet reviews and cleansing to ensure accurate logs.
  • Work with the directors to ensure the profitability of projects and the department, escalating issues and celebrating successes.
  • Coordinating and planning a team of developers and designers.
  • Working with solutions architects to construct detailed briefs for the design and development team for all projects.
  • Be an escalation point for the internal team.
  • Driving collaboration between the design, SEO and development teams during a project.
  • Carefully monitoring client change requests against the agreed scope.
  • Awareness of Soap Media partnerships and proactive in discussing these with clients and looking for opportunities to profit further from these.
  • Ensuring all project invoices are sent to client when anticipated.
  • Running project and process retrospectives with the team and ensuring action points are carried out.

Skills: Required

  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of development technologies, web projects and WordPress.
  • Demonstrable ability and experience in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the brief, and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A solutions-driven positive attitude.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Skills: Desirable

  • Content entry skills (particularly in WordPress)
  • Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile / APM
  • Experience with Jira and Tempo
