ROLE PURPOSE
Leep Utilities owns and operates regulated and non-regulated multi-utility networks across the UK. With sites in MediaCityUK, Liverpool Waters and Canary Wharf, our broad range of capabilities includes electricity, water and wastewater, alongside heating, cooling and hot water services.

We deliver straightforward connections throughout the UK and hold the relevant licenses that allow us to adopt regulated utilities on new developments.
We are looking for a Site Engineer be part of our Operations team. The main duties of a Site Engineer is to collect customer water meter readings and upload for billing and accuracy purposes as well as maintain water networks. Respond to any issues on any of our Northern insets for basic repair and maintenance. The role will also require additional duties requested by the Company that are deemed reasonable within the scope of the role and the employee’s competence and capabilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately record meter readings on a daily basis, submitting readings to the billing team.
- Carry out network valve exercising in a controlled and effective manner to ensure all networks operate as required.
- Carry out network flushing when needed with advice from the Water Quality Manager the ensure the delivery of high quality wholesome water.
- Carry out basic repairs to include but not limited to meter cover replacement, water meter replacement. Training will be provided to ensure you are competent to safely carry out tasks being asked of you.
- Assist Leep Customer Services/Operations Managers to optimise the service and supply requirements to maximise utilisation during normal working hours.
- Ensure that all activities are fully documented, procedurally controlled and kept up to date.
- Attend and support stand-by activity as required. Cover is provided on a 24-7 basis, 365 days per year.
- Communicate effectively with all Leep Utilities customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain the highest levels of personal and team safety standards throughout all workplaces. Adhere to all Company health & safety management requirements.
- Provide support to other team members, as and when assistance is requested.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure the recording of delivered water quantity is logged and communicated to the billing team.
- Assist the Operations Manager to optimise and improve the efficiency of the service delivered.
- Utilising the new Company Asset Management system - efficiently and effectively manage the scheduling of reactive and planned work with the assistance of the Operations Manager
- Assist in improving Leep Utilities revenue, reducing delivered service costs, and maximising profit returns by safely and proactively using your skills wherever possible to reduce the need for contractor support.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork, including timesheets are accurate and sent to the relevant department for processing, in a timely manner.
- Review relevant working practices and ensure that all duties are carried out in a safe and controlled manner. Implement changes where required to ensure safe working practices are always maintained.
- Carry out additional duties requested by the Company that are deemed reasonable within the scope of the role and the employee’s competence and capabilities. Examples of additional duties may include, but not be restricted to:
-Electric meter reads.
-Operational plant checks.
-Taking deliveries.
-General small scale ground maintenance.
- Create and maintain an asset register for all equipment and materials in use and develop maintenance plans in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
- Organise maintenance activities and assist in the appointment of subcontract services to safely and cost effectively deliver maintenance services.
- May involve nights away to assist the Northern Site Engineer with their duties from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Computer based packages. (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Mobile devices/Applications. (e.g., Outlook, Calendar, Messaging, WhatsApp)
- Good standard of English and Mathematics.
- Ability to develop strong customer care relationships.
- Familiarity with hydrants, valves, standpipes, and water meters.
- Familiarity with hoses and recognition of required fittings.
- Ability to use hand tools correctly.
- Ability to read and understand aslay drawings
- Full driving licence required.
