CHANEL has an exciting vacancy in the UK Flagship 173 New Bond St. Boutique. This new role will support and develop the strong excellence in customer experience and care at CHANEL by offering an in-house care workshop.
We are looking for a Watch and Fine Jewellery Technician to join the team in our Flagship boutique to offer and manage a range of repairs in store.
The candidate will be passionate about the world of watchmaking and jewellery and have at least five years’ experience in the aftersales sector. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as have a fine eye for detail. This person will be at ease communicating at all levels of the organisation, whether it is with boutique staff or directly with customers. This role will report to the Boutique Director and provide strong support to the Operations Manager.

What You Will Bring…
  • Acting as an ambassador for the brand, bring a proven competency of repairs within the jewellery and watch environment.
  • Build a strong working relationship with our internal workshop based outside of London and act as a support for the existing team with current tasks.
  • Immerse yourself fully into the retail environment with the confidence to interact with clients on a daily basis and at events and become an integral part of the client experience.
  • Good awareness of the multiple aftersales tasks in order to perform the initial analysis on all watches and jewellery items coming in for repair. Tasks will include, but not limited to:
    • Watch Diagnostics
    • Battery change service
    • Bracelet adjustments
    • Demagnetisation
    • Leak check
    • Aesthetic control
    • Cleaning of jewellery timepieces
    • Engraving on jewelry pieces
    • Shine and polish service
  • Ability to work with boutique teams to update them on the status of repairs as well as liaise directly with customers to fully answer their technical queries on their pieces.
  • Be responsible for logging in repairs, follow up all stages of the process, manage the spare parts process as well as undertake quality management of pieces in stock.
  • A good understanding of equipment needed to perform tasks and carry out basic checks to ensure machines and equipment are maintained in good working order and highlight any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to utilise analytical programmes to track and monitor the repair journey
  • A track record of leading and supporting projects with openness and curiosity, while delivering effective outcomes in a timely manner
  • A flexible approach to ensure timely delivery of projects, including travel across the UK and occasional international travel
