Job description
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The purpose of the role will be to assess all wastes for identification, classification and labelling for both Hazardous / non-Hazardous waste and soils in order to comply with WM3 regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
RELATIONSHIPS:
a) Responsible to: Waste Manager
b) Responsible for: None
c) Liaison with: Directors, Managers, Employees, Customers,
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Testing soil samples using rapid testing equipment
- Sampling soils and preparing them for testing at external laboratories
- To produce sampling plans for customers
- Sampling waste soils & collecting samples from SRC sites & customer sites
- Classify waste soils correctly using WM3
- Keep accurate records of testing
- To keep the lab clean and tidy
- To assist the waste manager to ensure that the company complies with our environmental permits
- Ensure waste acceptance procedures are compliant.
- Handle incoming telephone calls from clients and potential clients, including technical queries.
- Ensure that weekly and monthly reports and other management information is produced accurately and timely.
- Always represent the company in a professional manner
- To comply with Factory Production Control Manual in support of the Company’s Quality Objectives
- To act in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices highlighting any issues appropriately.
- To perform duties as directed by Manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- A proven track record in a technical function, although full training will be given to the successful applicant to develop your skills.
- Experience in the Waste Industry and WM3
- Good telephone manner
- Flexibility to undertake a wide variety of administration tasks.
- Strong literacy and numeracy and communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites.
- You will be highly organised paying attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work individually under your own initiative.
- Excellent general office administration skills
- Full driving licence will be required due to site visits
