Job description
Here at the Royal United Hospitals, Bath we work very hard managing and collecting a combined figure of around 1300 tonnes a year of, clinical waste, offensive waste, general waste, recyclable waste and other waste streams. We recycle where we can, and take the business of managing waste on site very seriously; we are very proud of our small in house team who cover 365 days of the year making sure the site is clear of waste working together with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. It is a physical and fast paced job, every day is different and presents new challenges.
This is an important role providing and maintaining a positive environment for both patients and colleagues alike on site through;-
- A professional, efficient and timely waste collection service
- Ensuring the clearance of the clinical, non-clinical, hazardous, non-hazardous waste streams on site
- Collecting dirty linen and scrubs for timely return to our contracted launderer
Good communication skills are essential as you will interact with many people in their work area across site as part of a team, or on your own , the waste streams are collected 5 times throughout the day and evening from all our wards and departments within the hospital.
