Job description
We are looking for a Waste Driver/Collector to join our Waste Services Team to be responsible for the supervision of the team and vehicle whilst on shift. This will also include vehicle checks, necessary routine maintenance (oil, water, etc.) and cleaning (using the wash bay) and ensuring daily scheduled collections are completed.
Your next role
You will be transporting goods equipment and personnel, assisting in the loading and unloading of the vehicle when necessary and updating the in cab systems with any collection issues.
Your working hours will be up to 7.4 hours a day Monday to Friday between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00 where you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level in customer care in line with our service standards and you will have responsibility for the behaviour of the crew.
You will be required to undertake contracted overtime when required for bank holidays, or Saturdays after Christmas/New Year holidays.
A driver assessment will need to be completed before passing to the interview stage and you will have a current HGV licence and a valid in date CPC Card, experience of completing daily log sheets and tachograph/books and be able to operate electronic ICT systems.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
