Job description
With over 30 years experience as a manufacturer of specialist products for the decontamination industry, we are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse/Stores Person to join our factory team at our Head Office in South Shields.
You will be responsible for ensuring stock levels are maintained at all times in accordance with company targets, working in conjunction with the technical and production teams to maximise productivity within the factory.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, with inventory control and warehousing experience, preferably from within a manufacturing environment. You will also have excellent IT and numeracy skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
Key Duties
- Take responsibility for inventory management throughout the manufacturing process
- Review, prioritise and administer works orders that are produced for the manufacturing department
- Allocate, pick and distribute inventory to the production / assembly teams
- Re-order inventory with recommended suppliers based on outstanding works orders / production schedule
- Negotiating best pricing with current or new suppliers
- Receive and take ownership of all inventory received, this will sometimes involve off loading delivery vans by using a forklift truck
- Maintain an accurate inventory system and participate in perpetual inventory cycle counts
- Process and administer all paperwork required to ensure the smooth running of the department
- Ensure on-going continuous improvement and that improvement suggestions are raised with the senior management team
- Increase efficiency and profitability of the department
- Ensure all orders are despatched within deadlines

Salary: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
