PERSON SPECIFICATION
The post holder will have:
- Previous experience in warehousing/stock control.
- The ability to work without supervision.
- Good written communication skills.
- Knowledge in importing and exporting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good and articulate telephone manner essential.
- Excellent customer service skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The applicant will be responsible for the overall management of our warehouse, stock and dispatch of goods. Responsibilities typically involve a combination of picking, packing, storage, handling and shipping tasks. Generally, a warehouse worker’s daily tasks include:
- Responsibility for goods in and out.
- Responsibility for the efficient processing of orders for domestic and export.
- Liaising with and answering customers’ telephone enquiries, orders and deliveries.
- Advising management on stock levels.
- Ensuring the warehouse is clean and tidy and maintaining equipment.
- Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paper work.
- Storing and rotating stock accordingly to establish procedures.
- Assisting with and maintaining efficient warehouse inventory.
- Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times.
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to manager or supervisor.
- Ability to keep information organised and confidential.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel. (Mac useful)
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules.
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.
As we are a small team the role will also include the following daily duties: answering customer telephone enquiries throughout the day, taking orders or directing calls where necessary, helping out with day to day administrative tasks and warehouse duties along the way.
This job requires some heavy lifting - up to 35kg
