Job description
Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established organisation based in Tamworth as a Warehouse Operative on a temporary basis. We are looking for candidates for both the AM shift (6am-2pm) and the Day shift (10am-6pm). This role is to start immediately and is for a 6 month period
Summary
Participating in all loading and unloading activities
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducting start of shift safety checks on manual handling equipment including:
- o Forklift trucks
- o Pedestrian pallet movers
- o Internal delivery/collection vehicles
- Labelling containers and pallets
- Preparing pallets, single packages, and pallet boxes
- Monitoring, controlling, and recording information on paper and electronic systems and handheld devices
- Wrapping, covering, strapping, and banding pallets in accordance with specifications manually or using wrapping and banding equipment
Skills and experience
- Be able to handle safely (pack, stack, palletise etc) containers weighing up to 22kg
- Hold a FLT counter balance licence
- Preferably hold a pallet mover licence ( not essential )
- Flexible to work overtime
- Must have good basic mathematics
- Must have good English comprehension to be able to interpret and follow processes and safety instructions precisely
- Competent and confident in using manual handling equipment
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines to meet customer expectations and transport deadlines

Package and benefits
- Full training given
- 6am – 2pm, 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch (half paid/half unpaid) - £12.96p/h
- 10am – 6pm, 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch (half paid/half unpaid) - £12.12p/h
