Awan marketing was established in 1976 and its first Cash & Carry was opened in 1981 the on Great Hampton Street, Hockley. Awan has very quickly established it's place among the largest importers, Exporters & Distributors & wholesalers in the UK. Carrying over 30,000 lines, servicing a customer base of over 14,000 throughout the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia from its central warehouse in Birmingham.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible to assist in the efficient running of the Warehouse function, ensuring the goods away and goods out expectations are achieved.
- Work as an active team player to complete team goals
- Check, sort and put away stock in proper locations
- Report damaged or missing inventory to Warehouse Manager
- Operate forklift correctly and safely
- Move stock from bulk storage to main warehouse location
- Support with branding service
- Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles
- Support with Stock Checks
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Need to be able to work effectively, managing time and tasks
- Able to pass a drug test/background check
- Completed GCSEs
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
- Must be trustworthy, accountable and obedient
- Must respect authority and all co-workers
Physical Requirements
- Maintain good handling techniques when picking and carrying goods
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the course of the shift
- Must keep workplace tidy and clutter free
